Privacy Policy

AthelVault (“AthelVault,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) helps you keep track of the things you own — assets, warranties, maintenance records, documents, tags, and reminders. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the AthelVault mobile app and this website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using AthelVault, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an AthelVault account, we collect the information needed to authenticate you and keep your data private to your account — such as your email address and a securely hashed credential. Authentication and account storage are handled by Supabase, our backend infrastructure provider, which stores this information on our behalf in a Postgres database.

The content you add to AthelVault

The core of AthelVault is the information you choose to track, including:

• Details about your belongings — names, categories, purchase dates, prices, notes, and tags you assign;
• Warranty periods and maintenance history you record;
• Reminders you set for yourself; and
• Photos, receipts, manuals, and other documents you upload as attachments to an asset.

Photos and documents you upload are stored using Supabase Storage. This content is yours — we access it only to provide the service, to maintain and secure the app, or as described in this policy.

Content processed through One Tap and Concierge

AthelVault includes two AI-assisted features:

• One Tap lets you photograph a receipt, box, or product label so AthelVault can automatically draft a new asset entry (for example, a suggested name, purchase date, price, and warranty window).
• Concierge guides you through manual entry and offers AI-generated suggestions as you fill in details about an item.

To provide these features, the photo or text you submit through One Tap or Concierge is sent to a third-party AI service provider (for example, a provider such as OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic) for processing, and the extracted result is returned to the app and saved to your asset. See Section 3, “How We Use AI to Power One Tap and Concierge” below for more detail.

Device and support information

If you contact us for support or submit feedback through the “Suggest an Improvement” page, we collect what you send us — such as your email address and the content of your message — so we can respond and, where relevant, improve AthelVault.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

AthelVault does not currently use third-party advertising networks, and we do not sell your personal information. We do not currently use third-party analytics or behavioral-tracking services within the app. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

3. How We Use AI to Power One Tap and Concierge

One Tap and Concierge rely on a third-party AI service to read receipts and photos and to generate helpful suggestions during manual entry. In practice, this means:

• The image or text you submit for that specific item is sent to our AI service provider solely to generate the extracted details or suggestion you requested.
• We do not ask the AI provider to use your content to train their general-purpose models, but AthelVault does not control the AI provider’s own infrastructure or policies directly. We recommend avoiding photographing or entering sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers or financial account numbers) that isn’t necessary to describe the item you’re tracking.
• You can always skip One Tap and Concierge and enter items manually if you’d prefer your content not be processed by an AI service.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain AthelVault’s core features;
• Power One Tap and Concierge, including sending content to our AI service provider as described above;
• Send warranty and maintenance reminders you’ve set;
• Authenticate you and keep your data secure and private to your account;
• Respond to support requests and feedback;
• Diagnose problems, secure the app against abuse, and improve AthelVault over time; and
• Communicate with you about your account or changes to our services.

5. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that help us run AthelVault, and only to the extent needed for them to perform that function:

• Supabase — provides authentication, database, and file storage infrastructure for the app.
• AI service providers — process images and text you submit through One Tap and Concierge, as described in Section 3.
• Google (and Apple, once available) — process Pro subscription purchases made through Google Play or the App Store, as described in Section 6.
• We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of AthelVault or our users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify you).

6. Subscriptions and Payment Information

AthelVault offers a free tier and a paid Pro tier. AthelVault is currently available on Google Play, with an App Store version planned; Pro subscriptions are sold and billed through whichever store you install AthelVault from. When you subscribe to Pro, your payment is processed entirely by Google (or Apple, once the App Store version is available) — AthelVault does not receive or store your credit card number or other payment credentials. We may receive limited information from Google or Apple confirming your subscription status (such as whether you have an active Pro subscription) so that we can unlock Pro features for your account. Refunds, billing disputes, and subscription management (including cancellation) are handled through your Google Play or Apple ID account settings, subject to Google’s and Apple’s own policies.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your account data, asset records, and uploaded files are stored using Supabase’s hosted infrastructure. We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit and access controls tied to your authenticated account — to help protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information protected and to limit access to what’s necessary to operate the service.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account and asset data for as long as your account is active, so that AthelVault continues to work the way you expect. You can delete your account and the associated data at any time from within the app’s account settings. Deleting your account removes your assets, uploaded photos and documents, and reminders from our active systems, other than what we’re required to retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

AthelVault does not currently offer a self-service data export tool. If you’d like a copy of your data before deleting your account, or have any other request regarding your information, email us at athelvoidsolutions@gmail.com and we’ll assist you.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly within the app (for example, editing or deleting an asset, or deleting your account), or by contacting us at athelvoidsolutions@gmail.com. We will respond to verified requests in accordance with applicable law.

10. Children’s Privacy

AthelVault is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. International Users

AthelVault may be used by people in different countries, and the infrastructure providers we rely on (such as Supabase and our AI service provider) may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in. By using AthelVault, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in such locations.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as AthelVault evolves. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of AthelVault after a change means you accept the updated policy.
